Bavaria Owners Association

Bringing the BOA’s image right up-to-date with professionally designed and printed yearbooks and a new responsive website with online membership management and an integrated member register and a user forum.

Just logged in for the second time today as I wanted to check on something and WOW what a change! Well done on the transformation of the website!

THE ISSUE

The Bavaria Owners Association is a not-for-profit organisation for owners of the Bavaria make of yachts and motorboats.  It is run by the members and has no commercial interests.

Immedia Creative had been designing and printing the BOA yearbook for a couple of years, when were asked by the BOA to design and build them a new website, as the current site was around 10 years old and was begining to cause problems with technology no longer being supported.  It was also not mobile-friendly (which is important as most people on boats tend to use mobiles or tablets to browse the web).

ACTION TAKEN

We took a long hard look at the current website with the client to work out what pages and content were actually needed and relevent, and how the site could be make more usable and easier to navigate around.  We also discussed using a specialist membership/subscription based system to look after the membership renewals and access to the “member only” sections of the website.

I members user forum was also integrated with the website, to provide an easy way for BOA members to share ideas and issues.

RESULTS

Feedback from the BOA and its members has been enormously positive, and we understand that the manufacturer and UK distributor of Bavaria Yachts have also been very positive about the new website.

We are told that membership has increased this year, and the assumption is that the fact that the new website is more search-friendly and is also mobile and tablet friendly, has encouraged more people to join.

The stream-lining of the membership management process has also reduced the workload for the committee members.

WORKING TOGETHER

Costs are a key consideration when working with an organisation such as a charity, club, or assocation, because the only income is from memberships and donations.  As a result of this and working closely with key members of the BOA committee, we were able to bring the project in on a very tight budget, whilst still producing a clean and professional website.

THE RESULTS

The process of collaborative development with regular communication has led to the stage where we consider ourselves not only partners with Absolute Mobility, but also their friends. Our team are comitted to helping them achieve continued success and we hope the relationship will benefit Absolute Mobility for many more years to come.
